On March 17, 1994, while I was a 16-year old high-school sophomore, I became the victim of a bully. While in gym class, he sucker-punched me in the temple. As a result of this, I suffered a traumatic brain injury. This led me to have a stroke, and spend a month in a coma. When I awoke, I was like a newborn baby, and had to relearn everything in my life. I couldn’t walk, talk, bathe, or go to the bathroom. It was truly devastating to me and my family. I had nearly died, all due to the actions of a bully. Life today is still a struggle due to my physical disabilities. Bullying in schools is a serious issue that needs to be addressed, and I feel my story needs to be told.
